A BIT MORE...

Arctostaphylos ‘Dr. Hurd’ is a remarkably attractive shrub.  Light greens leaves contrast sharply with the smooth maroon bark highlighting the intricate form and structure.  In late winter and early spring, the clusters of little lantern-shaped white blossoms attract hummingbirds looking for nectar in the cool months.  ‘Dr. Hurd’ grows more quickly than most Arctostaphylos, reaching 10 -12 feet high and wide in just a few years.  Arctostaphylos ‘Dr. Hurd’ works well planted in a row as a screen, but can also hold it’s own with grace as a focal specimen in the garden.
