The leaves of this groundcover grow 3-4” long and stand upright, giving the plant the appearance of a mass of fingers or chalk sticks reaching up to the sky. This hardy South African grows 1 – 1 ½’ tall by 3’ wide and is cold hardy to 15° F. Plant in full sun or partial shade, in sandy or well-drained soil. Drought tolerant and deer resistant, Seneco mandraliscae needs very little to no water in the summer months. Use Senecio mandraliscae as large-scale groundcover, underplanting to cacti and taller succulents, or to add dramatic color in the landscape.
