A BIT MORE...

Brunfelsia pauciflora is also called ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ and once you see it in person, you’ll understand why. The blossoms are a lovely blue-violet when they open, and hold that color for a day or so. The second day, the flowers are lavender, and by the third day, they’ve usually faded to white. The effect of the bush being nearly covered in blossoms of varying shades is impossible to forget. Do note that Brunfelsia is in the nightshade family, and as such the leaves and fruit are toxic to animals and children; don’t plant where they might be tempted to go for a taste. Plant ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ where it won’t get cooked by scorching sun, and make sure to water regularly, but not excessively.
