Among the world’s best known and beloved roses, this cultivar makes even those with brown thumbs look good. Particularly eye-catching with profuse blooms that persist from spring through fall, this is a hardy medium-sized deciduous rose that comes in shades of white, pink and burgundy purple. Bred by Reimer Kordes in Germany and released in 1958, its parents are the ‘Robin Hood’ and ‘Virgo’ roses. It has received numerous awards and accolades. Attracting birds and butterflies as well as homo sapiens, it does best in Sunset Western Garden zones 4-24 in full sun to partial shade. It requires an average amount of water and is resistant to mildew and rust. The pleasantly fragrant blooms appear in clusters and will reappear throughout the growing season. It grows to a maximum height and spread of four feet and is naturally rounded. Boething Treeland Farms carries these in 5 gallons.
