A Bit More

A dense, tidy canopy of large, ovate leaves make  the Laurus ‘Saratoga’ a fine street tree or screen. Growing 15-35’ tall and 15-30’ wide, this tree develops a well-rounded crown that blooms with fragrant, cream-yellow flowers in early spring. Cold hardy to 20° F, ‘Saratoga’ is tolerant of seacoast conditions and drought resistant. Plant in full sun to part shade and provide good drainage and regular water during establishment. As with its widely known cousin, Laurus nobilis, the leaves of ‘Saratoga’ can be used for culinary purposes, though the flavor differs. Use Laurus ‘Saratoga’ in formal, traditional and contemporary landscapes.
