When you’d like a nod in your design aesthetic to the flashy tropical look of other Bougainvillea, but desire a more delicate and subtle look, consider Bougainvillea ‘White’.  This variety is a bit frost tender, so in places that get freezes over the winter, either treat this one as an annual accent, or plant in containers that can be moved to warmer areas. Bougainvillea benefits from regular water while getting established, but after the first year it only needs occasional watering.  Be sure to plant in full sun for the best show of blooms.  Beware the long sharp thorns when pruning; puncture proof gloves are best.  Plant white Bougainvillea where the bracts will have a chance to pop over the bright green foliage, and it has room to spread.
