A Bit More

A dwarf Agave prized for its curled nearly spineless leaves and attractive structure, Agave desmettiana is an evergreen succulent native to eastern Mexico. The narrow blue-green leaves arch downward to create a rosette. Given good drainage and plenty of sun with little to moderate water in a temperate environment, you will have a friend for life. Popular in containers and water-conserving gardens, it will reach approximately 3 feet tall with double that spread. While flowers appear in 10 or so years, they do not signal the death of the plant as “pups” or “offshoots” will, by that time, ensure its survival.
