A Bit More

Agave ovatifolia ‘Frosty Blue’ is a succulent cultivar known for its powdery, silvery-blue, cupped leaves and its yellow-green flowers on a 10-14′ spike. It blooms once in 10-20 years and dies afterward (monocarpic). Leaves have small teeth on the edges and a terminal spine. It grows as a symmetrical, rounded rosette. Does not produce offsets. Useful as a specimen, in xeriscape and rock gardens, container gardening, mass plantings, as a barrier plant. Prefers sandy, gritty, or rocky soil, requires excellent drainage. Best in full sun but tolerates part shade, especially in hot inland climates. Deer and rabbit-resistant. Fire-resistant. Cold hardy to 0°F.
