An attractive small succulent native to South Africa, this dwarf hybrid will not exceed 1-2 feet high and wide. From the 6-inch rosettes of heavily toothed blue-green leaves, tube-shaped orange flowers on spikes appear in mid-winter to spring. These attract hummingbirds and bees. Aloe ‘Blue Elf’ requires very little water once established and thrives on full sun or light shade. Its medicinal qualities are widely recognized. It is a lovely subject for containers or grouped in a drought-tolerant garden. Hardy to 20°F.
