A compact version of the more common species, Anigozanthos ‘Kanga Pink’® (Dwarf Pink Kangaroo Paw) is valuable in gardens where space is an issue. Named for its velvety, bright-pink flowers that resemble the paws of our favorite marsupial, Anigozanthos originated from west Australia. These evergreen shrubs form 1-2’ x 1-2’ sized clumps of narrow green leaves from which stalks of velvety, pink flowers appear. Plant Anigozanthos in an area of full sun, with good circulation and drainage. Cold hardy to 25-30° F, Anigozanthos also does well near a south-facing wall or near a high canopy with bright shade.
