Baccharis x ‘Sterile Centennial’ is for when you like the look of a lower growing Coyote Brush, but don’t want to deal with the fluffy mess that can occur when the female plants let their seeds go. This all-male hybrid is both drought tolerant, and better able to resist root rot that can come with soils that don’t drain as quickly as other members of this genus usually needs. Baccharis is a good choice for erosion control, and with moderate irrigation and removal of dead wood, can be an effective fire break.
