A Bit More

‘Imperial Thai Delight’ is such a distinctive Bougainvillea, you’ll never forget it.  Bracts surrounding the true flower emerge as crisp white, and then from the edge they become more and more suffused with pink as they age.  Bougainvillea is a lovely vine that needs support, as it has nothing with which to anchor itself to structures.  Be sure to plant in full sun for the best show of color.  Care must be taken when pruning or handling, as it has long sharp spines that invariably surprise you when you’ve let your guard down.  Puncture proof gardening gloves are the way to go.  ‘Imperial Thai Delight’ is frost tender, but can be treated like an annual in places prone to freezing over the winter.
