Korean Feather Reed Grass is an attractive grass with clusters of medium-green, arching leaves that wave in the breeze. But it is the Rose-gold plumes that rise above the foliage in the late summer that makes Calamagrostis brachytricha a stand out ornamental. Growing up to 4’ tall, the feather-like plumes sit just above the 2-3’ x 2-3’ clumps of foliage. A native to central and eastern Asia, C. brachytricha likes moist soil and can be useful near ponds and in rain gardens. Plant in full sun or partial shade and use Korean Feather Reed in mass plantings or mixed borders.
