Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Overdam’ is a graceful, medium sized, variegated grass, evergreen in milder climates, with lovely pink tinged blossoms that fade to golden blonde as the season progresses. Feather Reed Grass looks equally appropriate planted as a specimen, or in groups, where the graceful striped leaves provide interest. Even though this grass doesn’t generally go dormant, cut it back in late winter to ensure clean fresh foliage. ‘Overdam’ is more tolerant of shade than most Calamagrostis, and should actually be sheltered from hot summer sun.
