A Bit More

Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis ‘Diamond Heights’ is a low-growing, evergreen shrub that features striking lime green and dark green variegated foliage and pale blue spring flowers. Excellent groundcover, bank cover, container plant, and suitable for planting in dry shade under native oaks. It is salt spray and wind tolerant making it excellent in seacoast landscapes. Good weed suppression. Best in full sun along the coast. It will burn in hot, dry afternoon sun; requires bright, partial shade inland. Prefers well-drained, average to rocky soils; dislikes heavy, wet clays. It is drought tolerant once established, but performs best with low-to-occasional summer watering. Verticillium wilt-resistant. Cold hardy to 20°F.
