A Bit More

Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca’ is an evergreen conifer featuring silvery-blue foliage. Pyramidal (excurrent) when young, it broadens and becomes flat-topped (decurrent) and picturesque with long, outspreading horizontal branches as it ages. Excellent as a large heavy shade tree, formal lawn specimen, large privacy screen, or large windbreak. It casts dense shade at maturity. Low to moderate water use (requires regular water when establishing, then drought-tolerant). It prefers well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soils. Will not tolerate chronically waterlogged or heavily compacted soils. Best foliage color in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Deer-resistant. Verticillium wilt-resistant. Cold hardy to -10°F.
