A Bit More

Echeveria agavoides is a succulent with apple-green foliage with striking red or reddish-pink edges/tips and flowers of red, pink, or coral with yellow tips. Excellent for containers, rock gardens, and succulent mass plantings. Tolerant of seacoast conditions when not directly on the beach. Highly heat-tolerant and sunburn-resistant compared to other echeveria varieties. It has low water use; should dry out between watering. Avoid water accumulation in the rosette center. Requires sharply draining soil, such as a gritty cactus and succulent mix. Neutral to slightly acidic pH. It requires full sun to light partial shade. Needs bright light to maintain vibrant colors. Resistant to Verticillium wilt. Fire-resistant. Deer and rabbit-resistant. Cold hardy to 25°F.
