A Bit More

This Japanese forest grass is wonderful for planters, borders, and for color contrast scattered throughout your garden. Its bright yellow-green foliage is eye-catching in the spring and summer. The ‘All Gold’s graceful arching blades turn chartreuse in the shade and bright gold in the full sun, fading to tan in the fall and dying to the ground when winter comes. We recommend cutting the dried blades to the ground in late winter or early spring and then waiting for its golden regrowth in the spring. This grass-like perennial spreads by rhizomes, but is not invasive. It is easy to maintain, especially when grown in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils.
