Juniperus horizontalis ‘Wiltonii’ is an evergreen conifer shrub with a low-growing, spreading habit and featuring intense silver-blue to blue-green foliage year-round. Uses include as a mass groundcover, erosion control, lawn substitute, weed suppression, borders, edging. Excellent for intermountain and seacoast landscapes. Tolerates desert conditions if given occasional deep watering during extreme heat periods. It prefers full sun. It can manage partial shade but will thin out and lose its blue coloration. Highly adaptable to sandy, rocky, clay, or loam soils, provided they are well-drained. It excels in poor, dry soils; extremely intolerant of soggy or wet soils. Medium water use when installed and acclimating; low to occasional once established.  Deer and rabbit-resistant. Resistant to Verticillium wilt. Cold hardy to -30°F.
