Uses include as a groundcover, erosion control, foundation planting, edging, low borders. Excellent in intermountain landscapes. It is tolerant of seacoast and desert conditions. It maintains its foliage color exceptionally well through winter. Low to very low water requirement. Highly drought resistant once its root system becomes well-established. It is very adaptable to sandy, clay, loam, rocky, or shallow soils. It accepts alkaline and infertile conditions. It prefers full sun but manages well in partial shade. Deer and rabbit-resistant.
