Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei ‘Natchez’ is a deciduous tree with a decurrent, upright, spreading, rounded habit and featuring dark green summer leaves that shift to shades of orange, red in autumn. Summer flowers are pure white with yellow stamens and exfoliating gray bark peels away to reveal a mottled patchwork of cinnamon-brown to tan-gray inner bark. Dead-heading or pruning spent flowers will usually produce a new round of flowering. Often grown as a standard and a multi-trunk tree. Non-invasive roots. Uses include as a focal point, screen, hedge, street tree. Excellent in desert landscapes. Tolerates urban heat and pollution. Specifically developed for mildew resistance.
