A Bit More

Lavandula heterophylla is one of the hardier lavenders on the market. This bush can take a winter freeze down to 20⁰F gracefully. L.heterophylla is also one of the larger lavender species, boasting an upright form that can get almost 5 feet tall. When left unpruned, graceful flower spikes rise a good foot or two above the foliage.  The calling card violet blue flowers arrive in the spring, and are attractive to all pollinators. While this species isn’t recommended for eating, it’s still beautiful and has an almost intoxicating fragrance.
