Lavandula x intermedia ‘Provence’ is an evergreen, woody, perennial/shrub with a dense, upright, mounding habit and featuring silvery-gray to blue-green, narrow, thin leaves and spikes of light lavender, purple-blue, or mauve-purple flowers. It is extremely fragrant and is excellent lavender for oil production. Uses include low, informal hedges and borders, edging, mass plantings, erosion control, container. Best practice is to allow the soil to dry out between deep watering. Thrives in lean, sandy, or gravelly, well-drained alkaline soil. It easily suffers from root rot in heavy, soggy clay.
