A Bit More

Limonium perezii is an evergreen perennial with a clumping, mounding habit and featuring foliage of large, leathery, dark-green basal rosettes and tall green stems holding flowers of deep purple-blue calyces and white flowers. Excellent as a cut flower and if dried out, can last for extended periods of time. Uses include mass plantings, erosion control, borders. Excellent in seacoast landscapes. Tolerates urban conditions. It can be used in desert landscapes if given occasional irrigation and good drainage. Moderate water needs when installed and acclimating; drought tolerant once established. It thrives in sandy, rocky, and well-drained soils. Prefers neutral to alkaline pH. Best in full sun but tolerates very light afternoon shade in searing inland heat. Low shade tolerance. Fire-resistant. Deer and rabbit-resistant. Resistant to Verticillium Wilt. Not cold hardy; frost cold will damage foliage.
