A Bit More

Liriope muscari ‘Majestic’ is a evergreen perennial with a dense, clumping, arching habit and featuring glossy, deep green, grass-like leaves and violet-purple flower spikes that stand up from the foliage. Glossy, metallic black berries are present in fall and winter. ‘Majestic’ is an improvement of the species with better flowering in shade, flower spikes stand above the foliage and can be wider, leaves are wider and darker green, more uniform growth. Uses include edgings, borders, mass groundcover, weed suppression. Tolerates urban, intermountain, and seacoast conditions. Moderate water use when installed and acclimating; drought-resistant once its root system is established. It is highly adaptable to almost any soil type (including poor or clay soils) but prefers well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. Highly shade tolerant; it may burn the foliage if planted in hot sun. Deer and rabbit-resistant. Resistant to Verticillium Wilt. Cold hardy to -10°F.
